Tustan Fortress in Lviv Region: A Unique Historical Monument
In the Lviv region, in the Skolovsky district, near the village of Urich, there is a picturesque rock wooden fortress Tustan. This is not only a very aesthetic building, but also an ancient monument of architecture and culture. Built in the IX century as a defensive building on the sand rocks with a height of 85 meters, the fortress served as a customs and defense point. The fortress was founded by White Croats.

The fortress controlled the Great silk road from China to Portugal and the Salt road from Galicia to Central Europe. In the times of the princes, the castle was a frontier center. During IX-XIII it was repeatedly restored. It is mentioned in numerous written memoirs of the past centuries.
