Kyiv is the Ukrainian capital and one of the multi-million cities. It is governmental and cultural center situated in the northern part of the country. Slimming diet and Kyiv are incompatible issue. We can not ignore the gastronomic abundance – varenyky (stuffed dumplings), zrazy (stuffed meat pie), borshch, kapustniak (cabbage soup), kulish (porridge with meat) etc. The average cost of standard dinner with no sea food dishes, but including basic alcohol beverage will be 9-11 euro in a middle price café. You can stay in a hostel, travel around by subway or public transport, eat out in the quality cheap cafes and spend for a week about 88 euro. If the budget allows, the one can stay in a trophy hotel, go around the city by taxi, eat delicious and expensive dishes that will cost 880 euro.
You can not ignore visiting Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, the ancient Orthodox holy place. It is a unique monastery complex with no equal anywhere in the world. The monastery has preserved its original appearance. 14 Orthodox churches, 7 museums, friary and others. Lavra means “a street”, and only special monastery could be named so. The main value of Lavra is supposed to be Holy relicts of the saints. Today Lavra is divided into Upper part (the historical and cultural complex), and Lower part (the friary).
